Will I need planning permission for my gate?
If you are replacing an existing gate, planning permission may not be required. However, if it’s a new installation, we always recommend seeking guidance from your local planning authority. We can help with that process, if necessary, as a rule if your gates are back from the kerb road side by 5m (when gates open inward) and no more that 2M high its not normally an issue. Conservation areas you will need to contact planning.

Typically, how long from point of order to installation?
On average, from the initial order to delivery with the manufacture of new gates it normally takes 6 to 8 weeks, but, will need to be confirmed on site visit or when order is placed. However, with just automating your existing gate this time will be shorter.

How much disruption will be caused?
During most installations, traffic can still flow in and out of your property, as we deal with everything from groundworks to gate install, we can ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum on site.

How much will the work cost?
Cost of the gate and the installation will be specific to each project. Reference to the gates these are priced, once an image is forwarded to us, again the automation is specific to your project,

How safe are automated gates?
The safety of installing automation to Gates is limited to the installation and the experience of the installer. Automated gates if installed correctly and are used according to the manufacturers instructions are extremely safe. With HMS a Risk Assessment is carried out at the beginning of every project and sometimes exceed the British Standard Requirements. Safety is paramount, especially where children and vulnerable adults are concerned. We show you how the safety works on your gate and installation during the handover when the gates are commisioned. You will be left with a handover booklet which will contain details of safety installed, you will be required to keep this and it will form the basis of your Technical File for your automated gates.

What happens in a power cut?
All automated gates are able to be be down powered and put into manual operation. Instructions will be given on how to carry this out, should the power fail at any time on your property.
How are the gates and system maintained?
It is essential that all automatic gates are maintained regularly and their safety devices are checked. On every installation we offer a free callout within the first year in relation to warranty issue. After that, we can set up a maintenance agreement to make more service calls as required.

How must Warranty do we get with the system?
With CAME automation System (Motor and Control panel) 36 months with accessories i.e. photo cells, safety edges, keys pads and intercoms 12 months and labour 12 months warranty.
